LA councilman puts brakes on Great Streets plan in North Hollywood, but cyclists aren’t happy

A proposal to reduce traffic lanes along Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood is getting pushback from the area’s councilman, Paul Krekorian, who said he is concerned about the effects on local businesses and residents.

The latest plan under the mayor’s Great Streets initiative calls for taking away a lane of car traffic in each direction on Lankershim to make room for protected bike lanes that use parked cars as a buffer.
